Having joined as a trainee with limited knowledge of tax, I have progressed alongside the firm and developed the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the requirements of the work I do.
The long term plan for growth at Leathers means that there is a clear scope for career development. Continual assessments and appraisal means you can develop your skills and take on further responsibilities as your confidence grows.
Although the majority of the work I undertake involves company taxation, the variety is extensive. Constant changes to UK (and other) tax legislation mean every day is different. The position of a tax advisor is one of constant learning and adaptation.
The work I do is unpredictable, challenging and interesting. I enjoy using my knowledge and experience to assist our clients in making the correct decision.
Busy periods are always challenging, but a strong team atmosphere and careful resource management mean nothing is impossible! It is always satisfying once major projects are completed.
I aim to give the same level of support to our trainees that I received on joining the firm – there is a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing between member of the team and I hope to keep this up.
